The Story Behind the Logo

The artwork done on the vase and brushes logo was the creation of Madison Oudemool, a full-time artist living in Mt. Pleasant. Madison and I became friends while serving together in prayer ministry, and I was very excited when she agreed to design a logo for me! Madison is a talented architectural illustrator, private art instructor, and accepts commissions for portraits of people, pets, homes, architectural rendering, and fine art. She prefers to work with pen and ink, graphite, pen & ink with watercolor wash, and pastels. The drawing to the left is Madison's self-portrait with her daughter, Gabrielle.

She can be reached at (843) 200-0460.

The vase in the drawing is one of three pieces of milk glasswear given to my aunt as a wedding gift from my grandmother. Look carefully and you will see a crown on one of the brushes, my homecoming queen tiara. However, to me the crown symbolizes a much deeper meaning, being a princess of the King, not based on what I have done, but what He has done for me!

Truly, life is more than external appearances. It is very good to desire to present ourselves the best as we can, but we must not forget what is really important. "Your adornment must not be merely external--braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:3-4
